Class Intro Fall 2021

The Basics:

American Society is an introductory social studies class covering two semesters.  In this semester’s class we will begin with the Reconstruction (approximately 1880) and progress through to the end of the Second World War.  Your regular attendance and careful organization of notes, handouts and other materials will help you be successful on the exams, assignments and projects for this course.  Please do not hesitate to ask for my assistance at any time; *email is the best way to contact me outside of class.

In our exploration of American history we will be discussing controversial topics. Mutual respect is essential, and nothing else will be tolerated.  Your participation in discussions, simulations and any other class activities will be considered as part of your class grade.  Please come to class regularly and keep up with class assignments.  You will find that this will make the class less stressful and more fun. Please contact me if you are having trouble in any way with this class, and sooner rather than later.
